The
23-acre park is located on South Nebraska Street and
is the home facility for the Morton
Junior Football League (J.F.L.). The park contains
four football fields and a utility building that includes
public restroom facilities and a concession stand.
There is a 100-car parking lot at the J.F.L. fields.
The lot is only open for athletic contest use. The
fields and utility building were developed through
funding and work undertaken by
Morton J.F.L.. The result has been the creation
of one of the finest youth football activities in
the area.
The
park also contains a playground that is currently
being renovated with new equipment and should be ready
for use in the summer of 1998. Two new tennis courts
were finished in 1997 at the section of the park that
is located at the corner of Idlewood & Minnesota Streets.
The courts are available for public play on a first
come-first served basis and tennis players are asked
to park on Idlewood Street by the shelter and drinking
fountain adjacent to the courts.
