for something to do? How about a class that burns fat, tones
muscles and strengthens your heart and lungs! Come join our
instructor Anne Risinger for an hour class that meets for eight
weeks and includes walking, stretches, low impact exercises,
resistant training with bands, balls and weights. (Participants
should bring their own 1-5 lb weights.) Please check with your

YOGA Modification and progressions to poses will be offered so class intensity may be adjusted to personal needs. Register either for the morning or evening class. No babysitting will be provided. Do you want to learn a new dance? Join instructors Mike and Toni Auriene for lessons once a week at Freedom Hall. Participants will 2 - 3 rhythms each 6 week session on Tuesdays, which includes Waltz, Rumba, Cha, Foxtrot, Meringue, Tango, Swing and Mambo. Every participant must have a partner. *NOTE: The week of September 6th class will be held on Wednesday, September 8th.
Morton Park District has installed new pickle ball courts at Birchwood Park. We have 2 new courts next to the batting cages.
Schedule of play at the courts is:
Sundays: open play for men and women at 3:00pm There are always extra paddles for play and balls are provided. If you should have questions call Ned or Judy at 263-7772.
Men's 12" Slow Pitch Softball 2010 Fall League The
Morton Park District is offering a men's fall league which will
play on Tuesday and Thursday evenings with teams playing a double
header once a week. Registration will begin on Monday, August
16 for returning teams and Wednesday, August 18 for new teams.
Team fees and forfeit fees are required at time of registration.
To qualify as a resident team, you must have at least 50% of
your rostered players living in the Morton Park District. Deadline
for registration is August 27. Roster and player fees for at least 10 players due by August 27 at 5:00pm.

If you are looking for a way to maintain balance, flexibility and muscle tone or just want to "get back into shape", come join Katie Shelton for a 10-week class that incorporates gentle stretching with light weight bearing postures, derived from the century-old practice of yoga. Not only will you utilize deep breathing and relaxation techniques to improve mental focus, you may discover an entirely new outlook on personal self-care!
