MCCLALLEN
PARK
Located
on the corner of Jackson (Rt. 150) and Tennessee on
the East Side of Morton. The 40-acre park was farmed
for many years before development began in the fall
of 1996 to turn 20 acres of the park into a community
soccer complex. The facility includes 6 fields of soccer
play and a 300 car parking facility. Entrance to the
park is off of Tennessee Avenue only. Plans also call
for a utility building that will include a concession
stand and public restrooms. The Morton
Youth Soccer Organization (M.Y.S.O.) and Morton
Blaze Soccer are co-sponsored the cost of development
for the soccer complex. The park provides a permanent
home to over 600 youth soccer players in Morton!
Future
development of the remaining 20 acres is being studied
to provide additional athletic and recreational use
to Park District residents.
