MORTON J.F.L. YOUTH FOOTBALL & CHEERLEADING

The Morton J.F.L. offers a fall program of tackle & flag football in a variety of ages and weight appropriate teams. Games are played at the J.F.L. fields located at Southwood Park. Cheerleaders perform at all home games and practice 2 times a week. The program runs from early August to late October with practice on weeknights and games on weekends against area teams. Registration begins on Saturday, May 9 and May 16 from 9:00 am to Noon at the Freedom Hall building located at Birchwood Park.

HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL CAMP
This camp is for High School players. All aspects of football will be covered. Camp will be full pads issued by the high school. All High School players are encouraged to attend. Each camper will receive a camp T-shirt. Skill contest will be conducted on the last day of camp. Prizes will be awarded to the winners. In conjunction with the football camp, weight lifting will be offered on Mondays, Tuesdays, & Thursdays starting June 14th. See www.morton709.org/mhs for times.

DANCE CAMP
Participants will learn a few dances instructed by the MHS Dance Team. Emphasis will be placed on technique, enthusiasm and FUN! Participants will perform for parents and friends on the third day at 10:00 am. Participants will also be invited to perform the dances they learned at the high school for Red/White Night on August 20th.

BOYS BASKETBALL
This camp is designated to help potential basketball players develop the fundamental skills necessary to fully enjoy the game of basketball. In addition to basketball skills, interaction and social skills will be stressed for each camper. The excitement of skills tests, relays and scrimmages will provide the camper with plenty of action on a daily basis. Each age group will use adjustable baskets and sized basketballs to match their individual capabilities. The camp staff and a daily soft drink at break. Awards will be given on the last day of camp. All campers will meet at the high school to begin every day.

BOYS BASKETBALL SHOOTING
This highly regarded camp is designed to improve individual shooting techniques for each camper. Campers will receive the knowledge of proper shooting techniques that can become a daily drill routine to improve their overall shooting ability. This camp provides the shooting skills necessary to make the game of basketball more enjoyable for players at any level. This camp is recommended in conjunction with the regular two-week basketball camp. Each camper will receive a camp T-shirt. Instructors will be full time district 709 coaches. Camp times subject to change according to the last day of school.

WRESTLING
Basic wrestling techniques will be taught to K-6 campers. Basic to advanced techniques will be taught to 7 - 12 campers. Freestyle and Greco-Roman techniques will also be introduced. Combative games and drills will be used to re-enforce techniques learned. All campers will receive a T-shirt.

MYSO is proud to announce the nation's #1 soccer camp is coming to Morton, the Challenger British Soccer. Challenger camps will coach over 105,000 kids across the USA this summer utilizing over 900 British coaches to provide a great week of summer camp that allows your child to advance their skills and have a fun camp experience. The camp will be held at McClallen Park, August 9th - 13th and offer two camps:

CENTRAL ILLINOIS SOCCER ACADEMY BOYS & GIRLS JUNIOR DAY CAMP
The Junior Day Camp is designed to accommodate players just beginning their involvement with the game, as well as players who have previous experience. By grouping campers according to age and ability, and by evenly balancing teams during match play, players can develop and improve their game in a fun and exciting atmosphere that best suits their individual needs. Special emphasis will be placed on technique and skill development. Registration forms are available at the Morton Park District office and should be sent to C.I.S.A. New Time: The Morton Day Camp will be moved from its 9:00 m - noon time frame in previous years, to 1:00 - 4:00 PM in 2010. The time change will allow the CISA Staff to be on location in both Peoria (9:00 am - Noon) and Morton. Additionally, the later start time will hopefully provide more access in travel times for those that are coming from various Central Illinois communities.

Day Camp Snacks: Campers must provide their own snacks and drink. Please make sure name is clearly marked on bag or box. Coolers will be available for storage. Ice and water will be provided. Campers are to bring a container for their water.
