BIRCHWOOD PARK

Located on the corner of Birchwood and Detroit, the 18-acre park contains the Park District Administrative Offices in the Freedom Hall Community Center. (Refer to Freedom Hall for rental information.) The park also has two fishing ponds, three softball fields that are the home of the Morton Girls Softball Association and the Park Districts men's adult slow pitch softball leagues. The softball fields include a concession facility with public restrooms. There is a soccer field located adjacent to the Freedom Hall and a new playground was installed in the park in 1994. The Morton Rotary Club is responsible for the impressive flag pole and landscaping that surrounds the sight.

Morton Park District has installed new pickle ball courts at Birchwood Park. We have 2 new courts next to the batting cages.

Schedule of play at the courts is:

Sundays: open play for men and women at 3:00pm
Wednesdays: open play for women at 8:00am
Wednesdays: open play for men at 6:00pm
Fridays: open play for women at 8:00am

There are always extra paddles for play and balls are provided. If you should have questions call Ned or Judy at 263-7772.
